If that becomes inevitable, use pads to shield the base of the coking utensils from direct contact with the wood. Excessive heat can cause swelling of the surface, leading to discoloration, cracking and denting.
Buy rustic decor cabinets with handles that are made of wrought iron. Wrought iron can resist heat and won’t break easily. Rustic in style, it also has the added benefit of matching easily with classic or antiquated cabinetry.
For wood to retain its quality and beauty, you need to occasionally polish it with high grade solutions. Choose non-poisonous types so your food can remain safe even if it drops onto the cabinet.
