A funny encounter whilst moving to Tacoma

It’s really been funny interacting with the electricians and plumbers here, an interaction that has been going beyond mere recognition and explanations. You see, we have shifted our house to 7 American States and 12 cities. And for each relocation that we have been made to go for, we’ve, as in my husband, Greg and I, have had something amusing to encounter in our various interactions with the Home improvement workers here- be it the technician on plumbing, electric works, gardening. Whatever you can think of, we’ve had a hell of a task getting them to do the job as per our exact specifications on that. For some odd reason, whichever state and city we have shifted to, Greg and I have been highly particular about one thing- we would like our house to be in tip top condition. The exteriors and aura has to impersonate our vivacious and bright character. Well, a sufficient amount of class coming out in our home accessories is also something that we surely wouldn’t mind at all. There was this interesting encounter Greg had with this particular Tacoma Plumber who was sort of hard of hearing. Just when he buzzed the doorbell, and I opened it- I said that I was so glad to see him as we were cooling our heels since a long time to get our plumbing work started. Immediately after my saying that, he flipped and asked me bewildered- “Why would you be ‘sad’ to see me?” I went like- “Hey! Hold it. When did I say that I’m sad, I said glad.” After that Greg asked him to clean the pipes well. And he turned and said-“Apologies Sir! I cannot wipe the car window swipes. I am just a plumber, not a cleaner.” And Greg started to scratch his head in puzzlement. Then I walked up to Greg and conveyed to him that the guy was not too great at hearing correctly. is this what Tacoma Plumbing is all about. After he went away, I could hear my neighbor Ruth grieving over some gawky Plumbing works in the town. Are all Tacoma Plumbers mechanized like that?
